Project X – Film for artists

The HoloCenter and AKS Holographie is offering film for artists.

The film is blue green sensitive tested so far with 532 nm, 512 nm and 488 nm.

Artists may request the film for 100 euros per m² (plus freight and taxes).

It can be cut to size and packed, in whatever format.

Test holograms made with presensitized  Project X film using the following specifications:

Exposure for non-presensitized material 2 – 3 mJoule / cm²

Exposure for presensitized material  0.25 mJoule / cm²

An example for processing the film.

All subsequent work can be done with a red darkroom light, red fluorescent tube or red LED:

Presetization with 1-2% Triethanolamine in water for 1 minute

Rinse the film in deionized water with photoflo for 1 minute.

Squeeze the film on a glass plate and hang it up to dry for 1 hour.

You can put the presensitized film back in a box and use it for 4 weeks or maybe longer.

Recommended Developer simple methol / ascorbic acid developer (see one recipe below)

Rinse

EDTA bleaching (see see one recipe below)

Final rinse in a 5 – 30 % solution (depending on the desired color) with Karion F and Photoflo for 1 minute.

Squeeze and hang up to dry.

It is also possible to immerse already dried films again in an x% solution of Karion F to change the color again.
