ANAHOROS disrupts the singular image of the unbroken horizon line and with that aims to disrupt any singular interpretations to which we might ascribe the horizon. In doing so, this work aims to highlight the coexistence of opposing symbolic meanings and the ways in which within these spaces of contradiction, new possibilities can arise.
Tracy Abbott Szatan – ANAHOROS
Tracy Abbott Szatan is an interdisciplinary light and lens artist. Working across film, photography, glass, and installation, she explores the spaces in between representation and abstraction to evoke the indefinable familiar, and to develop research-based works that are often entangled in questioning our ways of seeing, speaking, and knowing. Her work has been exhibited internationally and most recently at Icebox Project Space in Philadelphia and the Center for Performance Research in Brooklyn. She is currently a curator with the roving video arts program Straight Through the Wall in New York City.
