PARTICIPATE

The HoloCenter invites you to share light and art in local windows. This world-wide exhibition during May 2020 is aimed at supporting artists, honoring essential workers and sending a message of hope.

Illuminate artwork in the windows of your house, studio or a local venue that is closed.

The timeline is flexible, indicate on the map sign-up form when your work will be illuminated and the best times to see. Take a photo from outside to share. You can also embed a linked video such as a virtual studio visit, the process of making, documentation of an exhibition, or an audio guide to your work. Let us know if you want to create an artist live stream on Saturday May 16 – the International Day of Light.

Let’s send a message of hope around the world.

EVERYONE CAN CREATE A LIGHT WINDOW

Be creative with the materials at hand.

In addition to sharing artist works we encourage everyone to experiment with how they can share art and light through windows. Think about how you could use your windows as a screen, create shadow puppets or make and light a stain-glass mosaic.

SUPPORT AN ARTIST

Grants for New York artists are currently available.

Apply for a grant, materials or help finding a local venue
