Oracle performace by Julia Sinelnikova at Space Light Holocenter Plaxall Gallery

Julia Sinelnikova

My goal is to immerse audiences in new worlds, so they can slip into a meditative state and interact with each other on a more tactile level—with the light bouncing everywhere, dismantling walls, and destroying rectangular lines.

– From a conversation with Samantha Katz for The Creative Independent

Julia Sinelnikova is an interdisciplinary artist who works with holographic light art, performance and digital culture. Performing as The Oracle of Vector Gallery she creates a personal connection to states of consciousness that dismantle physical boundaries.
Her light installations have been exhibited internationally, including at Contemporary Art Museum of Houston and The Oulu Museum of Art. Sinelnikova has exhibited site-specific installations for Miami Art Week / Art Basel annually since 2011 and been commissioned by NYC Parks Department, NYC Department of Transportation, Barry L. Skolnick (Gilbertsville Expressive Movement NY), Pace University, Michael Madden (Maroon 5), SELECT Fair, Webster Hall, and Norte Maar.
Heavily inspired by electronic music, Sinelnikova has designed sculptural sets for performers including Lee Burridge, Juliana Huxtable, Machinedrum, The GZA (Wu Tang Clan), Peaches, and Aurora Halal. She holds a BFA in Sculpture from The Fashion Institute of Technology (SUNY).
